I'm Lost

OK, so I downloaded the program for USPS. It said "open or save?" but your instructions didn't say what to do. Seeing it was a zipped file, I opened and instructed it to unzip. I allowed it to save to wherever it wanted to (that's usually best). Then I took the tutorial. It said to set setting by clicking on tools. What tools? Internet Explorer tools? Some sort of tools with DSI? What page? Couldn't find any tools with DSI set up.

OK, so skip the set up and take the tutorial on on how to run the program. It shows a screen with 2 giant buttons and tells you click on the button. What it DOESN'Tsay is where to find the page with the 2 big buttons. I waste about 20 minutes looking all over. Is it on ebay? Is it somewhere in DSI? IS it on paypal?

I'm lost.... these instructions and tutorials seem to be missing all sorts of details.

So I loaded my parcel shipments the old-fashioned way, one at a time from the DSI website.

Is anyone else getting this thing to run? What am I missing???

sojo,

Once you download the file that is in "ZIP" format, you should unzip the file. It seems you got that far.

Now, double click the file named "DSIsetup.exe" that was unzipped. This will launch the software installer. Once you go through the install process, you will be able to run the program by going to your Start menu, selecting Programs, then selecting DSI eReport For eBay.

Please let us know if you are having further problems.

OK, that got me a little further but still big problems. I had to download some sort of explorer thing first, which I did, and then ran the DSIsetup.exec. I got nearly all the way through that, input my policy number and rates, input my ebay user name.... but the graphics on that page were glitchy -- they didn't line up and masked the first letter of my user name.

Anyhow, it proceeds to ebay sign in and I get a pop-up error message: An error has occurred in the script, Line 110, Char 1, Error Object Exposed, Code 0, (shows the ebay sign in URL). It asks me to either proceed or cancel. I try both alternatives but the message keeps popping up and it won't let me leave.

Finally after clicking cancel several times in a row, I get a message from DSI (paraphrased) Setup is not complete are you sure you want to go? And I click yes because its the only way out of the mess.

Any ideas? Was starting to get excited and then....

Also would be helpful if you told people to have their policy number available before they set up (and where to find it) so they don't have to reopen DSI in a separate window in the middle of the setup.

sojo,

What operating system are you using? Did the DSI software prompt you to install the .Net 2.0 framework during the installation? If so, please reboot your computer after installing it.

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer this could be a security setting problem.

My op system is XP home edition, updated service pack 2.

Yes, I did have to install the .net 2.0 framework, successfully. Yes, I just now tried rebooting again.

Yes, I am using Internet Explorer, fully updated, and no, I tried turning off all my security to see if that was the problem and it didn't work.

I just now checked and am still getting the error message at the same time during the login to ebay. And the graphics on your box are still off kilter.

sojo,

The graphics are "off kilter" but you can still navigate left and right & up and down via the scroll bars, correct?

Please call our office at 866-852-9956 so we can further assist you.

Yes, I can scroll around, but that is not only what I mean by off-kilter. Your graphics are actually covering part of the box where I fill in my user name so part of my name is covered. And some of your message is cut off so I can't read it. This all fits with the "script" error I'm getting.

Anyhow, yes, I will try and phone you tomorrow to see if we can't figure this out. Manual input on the website does get old.
